Welcome SCP members and supporters!
We are so excited to have a new home of the internet for you all to learn about what we're up to. Our 2021-2022 Board of Directors have been busy since November's change in leadership re-envisioning the mission of this organization and establishing a stronger shared responsibility for this important work.
Now that we're moving into the last quarter of the academic year, we have our last big pushes to accomplish the goals SCP has long had for itself: (1) To raise enough money to sustain and expand robust co-curricular programming for all Stanton students next year, and (2) To build out an enthusiastic, supportive, and equity-minded team of volunteers and set of relationships with stakeholders that will learn and grow as an organization.
We are so proud of the work we've done, including:
holding monthly General Planning, Spring into the Arts, Mini-Grants, Greening, and Board meetings,
supporting teachers' DonorsChoose projects and helping publicize and get them funded,
awarding $5,000 worth of Teacher Innovation Mini-Grants to over a dozen teachers,
maintaining our beautiful schoolyard through cleanups and landscaping,
submitting a $3,000 Garden Grant from the Whole Kids Foundation to invest in healthy edible plants for the schoolyard garden next year, and
soliciting auction items and sponsorships from over 700 local businesses for Spring into the Arts!
We can't wait to see what else our amazing team can accomplish moving forward. To all who have contributed, THANK YOU! We could literally not exist without you. 💜
